Summer Food Program

The summer food program is a federally funded food program that helps meet the nutritional needs of those who cannot afford to eat every meal every day.  We partner with the Forest Grove School District, and many people around the Forest Grove area, to serve the already prepared food at various park locations to kids from 1 to 18 years old.

Meals are served Monday - Friday, 12:00-12:30, by 3-4 volunteers (June 18th - August 17).  One person picks up the food (11:30), and two others assist with setup and food distribution (one person is required to have a food handlers license).  Services will also include a periodic activity for kids, led by 1-2 volunteers.  Volunteers, including their children who assist, can receive lunches.  Although, only adults should sign up to volunteer.

Volunteer Training Video

If you are unable to attend a training session, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the enclosed materials and civil rights video; attending a training session is not a condition for volunteering.  The civil rights awareness is especially important.  These materials will also be available in the binders that accompany the meals

Once you have completed the training and have read through the Civil Rights please email Anneka @ annekab@oldtownfg.com to let her know you are ready to serve.

Below are the 3 parks we are serving.
